Years ago, there were often rumors about Ortiz being interested in working for WWE but it never happened.

“Pre-story: Shane Douglas attended WWE Raw 3/19 in Philly wearing a Lucha mask and sitting hard shot camera side right in the middle. During the Kane / Big Show match up, Shane became very hot wearing a long sleeve shirt and mask and had to “get out of that shirt and mask” dying of heat. He wore the mask to conceal his identity so he would not disturb the show, but became irate of Vince McMahon’s product that he got up, turned his back on the product and proceeded to walk out of the building on his own. While he was walking out several small E-C-W chants ensued, before security converged on Shane to take him into custody. Video of this is online here on youtube and is already at 65,000 views in 24 hours! This was no invasion angle, as it was not planned to be that at all, but just a guy looking to take in some wrestling action, and just getting infuriated with what he was watching.

Extreme Reunion officials were contacted earlier today 3/20 that a fan happened to take his camera and put it into video mode to catch up with Shane Douglas as he was being detained by security at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia at WWE Raw 3/19 taping. The fan ran from the opposite side of the building to not only grab this great candid video, but also got to meet “The Franchise” one on one outside after being thrown out for associating with the Franchise.

Shane Douglas and the Extreme Reunion officials were busy all day Monday 3/19 shooting videos throughout South Philly and Northeast Philadelphia. In South Philly Shane stopped by his old stomping grounds the ECW Arena, and as he was getting ready to leave, the new owners of the building invited Shane in to use the building for whatever. Interesting. Shane also stopped down on Jewelers row to visit longtime friend and former ECW owner Tod Gordon. Later in the evening he was seen in a confrontation with Pitbull Gary Wolf in South Philly. More videos to come.

All these things on 3/19 was to raise awareness and publicity for the 4/28 Extreme Reunion event in Philadelphia.”

- WWE Champion CM Punk appeared on The Wedge music show in Canada this week and revealed that the band Rancid would be providing some music for his upcoming WWE DVD. Punk talked a few months back about how he wanted to control all of the music that was featured on the DVD.

- Sean “X-Pac” Waltman was in attendance for Thursday night’s WWE developmental tapings in Florida. Also in attendance was UK wrestler Saraya Knight, mother to FCW Diva Paige. Saraya is scheduled for this weekend’s SHIMMER tapings.

I wasn’t out of my shell yet as far as public speaking. I was really nervous to get up and address all the things that happened with my brother Owen, me and Vince McMahon, so many things I had to talk about for the first time in front of a large crowd. I wished that I could have gone up and did it and done it over again like a second try. I just kinda rambled. I wish I could do it over again”

Speaking about his appearance at Wrestlemania 2 in 1986 where he participated in the 20 Man Over The Rope Battle Royal, this marked the first time he appeared at a Wrestlemania. What was the atmosphere like at Wrestlemania 2, also speaking about Andre The Giant’s dislike of the NFL Football Players that participated in the match as well: “It was interesting. They always had something different then each one. The 3 cities, and the wrestlers watching the Pay Per View, I was in Chicago. What I always remember most was Andre and the battle royal. He (Andre The Giant ) really hated the football players. He didn’t like any of them. He kinda made a point of being more friendlier with guys like me and Jim “The Anvil”. He was always doing what he could to make us look good, which worked out of us”

The one and only guy he seriously injured in pro wrestling and how it happened: “At Survivor Series 1995), I took out the Spanish announcer (as he fell into their table), I blew his knee out with my head. They should have took him away in a ambulance, he was all messed up, in great pain. I feel terrible about it. I hurt that poor Spanish commentator. I always felt really bad about it he was a really nice guy. I think I really messed his knee up.”
