Paul Heyman Comments on Dixie Carter’s Crossover Event Idea

Posted by Marc Middleton in WWE News

was recently interviewed by Digital Spy. Here are some highlights.

What fans can expect from this Sunday in his match with : “”You can expect to see CM Punk do what CM Punk does on a daily basis in his career, which is demonstrate to the WWE Universe that he is worthy of the distinction of being the best in the world.”

recently saying that she would do a WWE / TNA crossover event: “I’m sure that Dixie Carter would love to do a WWE versus TNA pay-per-view. Why wouldn’t she? A friend of mine who has way too much time on his hands just started a new beverage company here in the United States. It’s called Shmuley’s Soda Company and he’s now distributed in three stores in the Bronx and two in Brooklyn.

“He would like to do a global promotion with Coca-Cola. I don’t suggest that Coca-Cola would be profitable having to do a global co-promotion with Shmuley’s Soda Company. In the same way it would make no sense for WWE with 95% global share to do an event with TNA with its 5% global market share!”

His ideal 30 main event: “I have a very standard answer for that because it’s the most genuine answer I can give someone. I think the main event for WrestleMania 30 should be a battle for the WWE Championship against the World Heavyweight Championship, to unify the titles.

“And that match should feature versus CM Punk, with Paul Heyman advising both men and therefore getting a percentage of the profits of both sides of the main event at WrestleMania.”

Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles, Kane vs. Abyss in a mask match (even though we already know what both look like without it), Beer Money vs. Rollins and Reigns for unified TNA/WWE Tag Team Championships, Triple H vs. Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar and CM Punk vs. Crimson and Matt Morgan, Dean Ambrose vs. Austin Aries, John Cena vs. Bully Ray, and of course… Sting vs. Undertaker. What a card that would be! And think of how much money each company would make just from PPV buys. Hell have this at Wrestlemania! One Wrestlemania where all the big names from each company showcase everything. Wrestlemania would be at an all time high in buys. Sting-Taker Wrestlemania match while still in different companies? Whew what a card that would be!!!!!!

David, some of those matches sound pretty good, however I would like to see a match between Ryback and Matt Morgan. Triple H, Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle in a Triple Threat match. I would have Daniel Bryan vs Jeff Hardy a TLC/Ladder match. Since this would just be a one-off show, they wouldn’t merge the tag titles but the match itself would be good otherwise. Bring Kharma back for a match against ODB. Free streaming preshow would be Robbie E vs. Zack Ryder. Sting vs. Undertaker main event — loser has to join the other company (or retire, either way).

Heyman had the exact same reaction I had to reading about how Dixie Carter would love to do a crossover event. I think just the idea of her mentioning that is good for helping to promote and get TNA a little bit of buzz. On the other hand, why would Vince want any of his employees to job to any TNA wrestlers? It would make absolutely no sense. Now if Vince owned both TNA and WWE I could see something like that happening. In fact, I wish he would buy TNA so he could right the wrong he did before when he shut down WCW after he bought them out. I feel as though a WWE-run WCW would’ve done much better than their attempt to re-create ECW.
