- 2013 WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino is indeed scheduled to appear at this year’s Hall of Fame ceremony, the 29 pay-per-view and RAW the next night.

– The dark main event after last night’s WWE SmackDown tapings in Biloxi, MS saw beat in a Street Fight. Del Rio put Show through a table to get the pin.

– WWE is receiving more criticism from conservative websites including Twitchy and Breitbart.com for their and Zeb Colter characters, accusing the company of bashing the Tea Party. WWE Senior VP of Marketing & Communications released the following statement:

“WWE has a long history of creating fictional characters that serve as either protagonists or antagonists, no different than other television shows or feature films. To create compelling and relevant content for our audience, it is important to incorporate current events into our storylines. WWE is creating drama centered on a topical subject that has varying points of view to develop a rivalry between two characters. This storyline in no way represents WWE’s political point of view. One should not confuse WWE’s storytelling with what WWE stands for, similar to other entertainment companies such as Warner Bros., Universal Studios or Viacom.”

I think the WWE is handling the heat that they’re receiving over Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter’s comments in the wrong way. I feel that the WWE could run with this in a huge way and really ignite Swagger’s position as a heel. I understand they want to keep the peace and squash any prevailing ideas that they are bashing any political or ethnic groups so why not mold this into a storyline of some sort and depict Zeb and Jack Swagger as renegades. Swagger and Zeb can issue statements arguing that the WWE is surpressing their freedoms of expression. I believe there are so many ways they could create something big out of all of the buzz that’s been made of Zeb and Swagger’s commentary on RAW. In the end I hope the WWE finds a way to capitalize on all of this because this could potentially become something special.
