Grantland.com has published a lengthy article on the life and controversial wrestling career of Kevin Nash, who has begun to gain traction in Hollywood. A notable point in the article has the six-time world champion reiterating his stance on “Vanilla Midgets,” a dismissive term he used as booker in the late ’90s in World Championship Wrestling to describe small-statured, gifted technical wrestlers who didn’t project larger than life personalities but were beloved by fans, such as Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and Dean Malenko. “Big Sexy” feels the professional wrestling industry died in 2004 at WrestleMania XX when WWE’s “Super Bowl” concluded with the image of the under six-foot-tall grapplers reigning supreme as champions and emotionally celebrating. Even though the two wrestlers are now deceased, he still believes they never belonged in the main event scene due to their small stature.
“When Benoit and Guerrero hugged [at the end of WrestleMania XX], that was the end of the business,” Nash says. “Has business been the same since that WrestleMania? Has it come close to the Austin era? Has it come close to the nWo or the Hogan era? You put two fucking guys that were great workers that were the same height as the fucking referees, and I’m sorry, man. Are you going to watch a porno movie with a guy with a three-inch dick? Even if you’re not gay, you will not watch a porno movie with a guy with a three-inch dick. That’s not the standard in porno films. So you put a 5-foot-7 guy as your world champion.”
Nash has the same problem with today’s “Internet heroes,” CM Punk and Daniel Bryan.
“They are not bigger than life,” he says. “I bet they could both walk through airports and not be noticed unless they have a gimmick shirt on and the belt.”
Nash also discussed how The Kliq shifted financial compensation in the wrestlers’ favor, how his 1995 heel turn inspired the “Attitude Era” and the subsequent ascent of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, cursing out Tom Cruise’s makeup artist on the set of Rock of Ages and more. What about his running buddy old drunky Scott Hall? Did he ever main event Wrestlemania? Was he ever world champ? The answer is no. He had a great career and he flushed it down the drain. Neither him nor Nash could have laced Eddie or Benoit’s boots. They could not last five seconds in the ring with them. NWO killed WCW and wrestling died during the fingerpoke of doom. Nash should be lucky ppl still know who he is. Eddie and Benoit busted their asses to get to the top of the WWE. Nash had friends in high places like Hogan and Sleazy-E.n Go to helll Nash.

Date: Aug 07, 2012 at 10:13 pmi used to have respect for kevin nash but not so much now. guys like Eddie,Chris and, Dean did a lot for wrestling. he is just bitter that he cant hang with the new generation of wrestlers like CM Punk,Danial Bryan, and Sin Cara. kevin nash was kind of good in his time now he is just a big guy who wants to blame other people for his disappointments. there is nothing wrong with WWE i would like it to be a little bit edgier like in the days of the attitude era, but i have been a WWE fan forever and always. so as for kevin nash stop your crying and bullying the deceased its unbecoming for someone of your age and stature.

He is jealous because Chris and Eddie were 2 of the greastest technical wrestlers of all time and he wasn’t shit. I will never forget how awesome it was when Chris benoit won the World Title at Wrestlemania 20 and eddie came out and celebrated with him with both of their world titles held high. Kevin Nash wish he had a wrestlemania moment like that or any moment for that matter. I would like to see him say that CM Punk or Daniel Bryan are small to their faces. He would get his big ass kicked big time. So do all of us a favor and shut the hell up.

Let’s get this out of the way, I loved it when Benoit and Eddie got the belts. It’s one of my favorite moments in all my years watching wrestling. That being said, get over yourselves douche bags! Kevin Nash is an actual wrestler/booker. You can argue his skill level at both jobs all you want, but the fact of the matter is most of you haven’t wrestled anything larger then a pack of KY Jelly and a box of tissues. Never mind the fact that none of you have know anything about booking a wrestling promotion.
So, if you want to get on your high horses and call someone out for “not knowing what they are talking about”, try doing it to the person standing in the mirror. You guys have ruined the joy of being a nerd. It used to be that you didn’t care about what people thought about wrestling, or comic books…That was part of being a nerd. Then all of the sudden being a nerd became cool. Now we have all of these idiots who feel the need to justify their nerdiness to the point of lashing out in anger at the very heroes who put it all on the line to entertain them. The real reason you flock to CM Punk and Daniel Bryan is because you want to point to the beauty of their skill in hopes that it will justify your love for wrestling to all the people that snicker at your for watching it. If you believe that is going to happen, then I have some magic beans for sale. Kevin Nash put his body on the line to entertain you dumb a$$e$. Date: Aug 08, 2012 at 2:39 amOn the “Undertaker: The Streak 20-0″ DVD, Nash says that he hated wrestling big guys (except Undertaker) because you couldn’t do much with them. So what is he saying? Everyone should be either Stone Cold or Hulk Hogan? Personally, I love the more athletic, fast-paced guys, especially the TNA X-Division, and I like CM Punk from back in his CZW and ROH days, these guys work harder and leave more in the ring that Nash ever has!
Having said that, modern WWE is a joke! Between the PG-era and the mob of uninteresting semi-skilled wrestlers they have today and the laughable Diva-division, theres only MAYBE half a dozen guys left who are worth watching. Wrestling didn’t die at Wrestlemania 20, it died at Wrestlemania 28, with the last great match we’ll ever see: Undertaker Vs Triple H.
