The Superman movie franchise is being rebooted in 2012 and casting is already underway for the lead roles of Superman and his mild-mannered alter ego, Clark Kent.
According to a few entertainment industry publications, both John Cena and Dwayne ‘The Rock” Johnson are being considered for the lead role in Superman: Man Of Steel.
IMDB.com reports that the film is being executive produced by Christopher Nolan (“The Dark Knight”) and will be directed by Zach Snyder.
Aside from John Cena and The Rock, actor Joe Manganiello (“Spider Man 3,” “True Blood”) is also being considered for the part.

Please tell me this is a joke. If either of these guys get the part I’ll be sick.
Either way it can’t be worse than Superman Returns.
Cena is too short…Rock is too dark ( no offense to anyone )…and Returns wasn’t that bad…it got bad when “superboy” was shown, makes me throw up in my mouth everytime i think about the last 20 minutes of the movie…ugh.
Christopher Nolan is a genius and should never have anything to do with The Rock or John Cena!
Its just a fake ass rumor… Keep your panties on ladies… Nolan would never should amateur actors like Cena or Rock for the role
Well if he’s thinking of doing a Superman Returns where there was a bunch of different Supermen I can probably see The Rock as The Man of Steel was his name John Henry or something, Im sure he can do a better job than Shaq did, lol. Cena im not sure who he would play unless they use him for body mass to fill some monster he has in mind.
That would work out I think.
