Breaking: Lance Cade Dead At 29 Years Old

We are sad to report that former WWE superstar Lance Cade (real name Lance McNaught) was found dead today. He was 29 years old and leaves behind two young daughters.

Cade was trained by former WWE superstar Shawn Michaels in late 1990’s at Michaels’ wrestling academy in San Antonio, Texas. He was released from WWE after an incident on an airplane where Cade took too many painkillers and went into a seizure. He was brought back to WWE developmental last year but was never used on television and was released again earlier this year.

Cade spoke openly in several interviews about his struggle with sleeping pills. He had been working for independent promotions and in Japan over the past year.

WWE.com confirmed the reports, posting this message:

“World Wrestling Entertainment was informed Friday morning by Lance McNaught’s father that he has passed away of apparent heart failure. WWE extends its deepest condolences to the McNaught family.

Mr. McNaught was under contract from March 2003 to October 2008 and performed under the name “Lance Cade.” He returned to FCW, WWE’s developmental territory, in September 2009, and was released in April 2010.”

“Lance Cade” is currently the top trending Twitter topic in the United States.

These wrestlers dont get it. How many have died from pills. Pain killers or sleeping pills have killed too many. Sad. R.I.P. Lance Cade.

I didn’t read anything about him overdosing on pills… Said he died of heart failure…. RIP Lance Cade.

When Eddie Guerrero died he died of heart failure too. That was from taking pain killers. It caused his heart to grow too big for his chest cavity and could not supply the proper blood flow. Maybe i.m jumping the gun but 29 years old, i think i.m close.

I actually got to meet Lance Cade about 4 years ago when he was on tour with WWE.
He broke the mould as to what i thought a Pro Wrestler was and how they would portray and act around fans. He wasnt bigger or better than any other person in the room that day. He was a true PROFESSIONAL, a true Gentleman and just a great person to speak to.
Im not gonna pretend he was like some kind of legend. He wasn’t. But it was an honor to meet him.
Leaves the world way to early.
    R.I.P Lance McNaught
