- A lightweight showdown between Gleison Tibau and former UFC Lightweight Champion Sean Sherk is nearing completion for UFC 103. The show (which still lacks a main event) will take place September 19th in Dallas, TX. Sherk is coming off his decision loss to Frank Edgar at UFC 98. The loss moves his record in the UFC to 7-4. Tibau most recently competed at the Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale, where he lost a controversial decision to Melvin Guillard. The Brazilian is 5-4 in his UFC career.

- During a post-UFC 100 press conference, company president Dana White addressed the possibility of Undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar facing the world’s #1 ranked heavyweight, Fedor Emelianenko. White insisted that he wants to see the fight happen just as much as anyone else.

“This whole Fedor thing has been going on and on and on. I keep saying this and that about him and he keeps waiting. Eventually, Fedor’s going to be here. I want Fedor. I want him to come to the UFC and everything else.”

“[Lesnar] just became the heavyweight champion. We’ll end up getting that deal done. And then we’ll do Brock vs. Fedor, and it’ll be a huge fight.”

Fedor has one fight remaining on his contract with Affliction, and he’ll be facing former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett on August 1st at Affliction: Trilogy.
