WWE Doing Great in Mexico, WWE Fallout from Styles on Obama, More

– WWE’s popularity in Mexico is growing by leaps. The ratings for RAW in recent weeks have topped a 14 rating. The AAA promotion was doing numbers like those a while back but they have been doing a 7.5 to an 8.0. AAA is still keeping their TV audience but WWE coming next on the same station is doing much better. The CMLL promotion has been doing about 3.5 ratings for their program.

– The comments made by Joey Styles on his Twitter page recently regarding Barack Obama have caused some concern within WWE. Some higher-ups in the company are concerned that advertisers on the web may find out about the comments and it would be more trouble than it’s worth. There’s also fear the comments could reflect bad on Linda McMahon on the CT school board and on the SmackDown Your Vote campaign because it is supposed to be nonpartisan.

A few hours after Joey’s most recent comments on Obama, he posted the following message and hasn’t wrote one since. Here’s what he wrote: “I just want to make clear that the passionate political commentary posted here is mine personally and not in any way those of WWE, Inc.”

Vince McMahon himself is said to be getting off on Styles’ pro-Republican rhetoric which is why at first it was green lighted. It’s noted that Styles went from being a “red headed stepchild” in the WWE world to now being a favorite of Vince. One person who was in the inner circle for years noted that the guys have gotten favored status over the years based on being outspoken on being ultra-conservative right.
