– Last week’s episode of TNA iMPACT averaged a 1.23 rating, which was up 3.5% from last week’s 1.19. The ratings increase came as a surprise to many since the show was head-to-head against the most-watched NBA game ever on ESPN between the Rockets and Lakers. Additionally, the second hour of the show averaged a 1.32 rating, compared a 1.15 for last week‘s second hour. Awesome Kong vs. Kip James was the highest rated match with a 1.37 in the fifth quarter-hour, which also featured a Scott Steiner segment, making this his fifth time in the last six weeks being in the highest rated quarter-hour.

– It looks like TNA plans to continue using Mr. “Kippin’ It Real” Kip James after making his return on iMPACT last week. Kip James has been pulled from an indy booking for VPW in the UK on May 26th due to TNA requiring him to be available for the TV tapings that night. He was supposed to be the UK Kid’s opponent, but Bob Holly will take his place. A funny-but-true quote from Kip on the issue: “The UK Kid is gonna be wishing he was in the ring with me when Bob’s finished with him.”
