Live Backlash Notes, Possible Team for Hornswoggle, Punk, More

– Andrew sent the following after last night’s Backlash pay-per-view: I just got home from the show and it was a really good show live. I was laughing during the “Goodbye” chants in the arena. During the Hardys’ I Quit match, I noticed it was mentioned on the site but there was a huge brawl in the crowd that everyone was cheering. These two guys were fighting it out and it looks like they were really hitting each other hard. One guy (I’m assuming security) tried to dive in at them but completely missed and landed a couple rows down from them. The 6 man was really slow and the crowd wasn’t into it until Orton got the win. The crowd was into the main event all the way. There were dueling chants but it seems that the crowd was 70% for Cena. I liked this show a lot, I have been trying to figure out if I liked this Cena-Edge match or the one I saw live during Summerslam 2006. I’ll have to wait to see this on DVD.

– The latest edition of The Dirt Sheet on WWE.com features John Morrison by himself, poking fun at his former tag team partner The Miz.

– The Sun reports that there was an idea tossed around this past week at a creative team meeting for Hornswoggle to be paired up with Festus. Both Superstars were drafted to the RAW brand in the Supplemental Draft two weeks ago.

– 2009 Money in the Bank winner CM Punk will throw out the first pitch for the Chicago Cubs vs. Houston Astros game at Wrigley Field in Chicago on May 15th, just two days before the WWE Judgment Day pay-per-view in Chicago.
