Edge/Christian Update, Matt Hardy Injury News and Notes, More

– Global License Magazine named World Wrestling Entertainment as number 37 on their list of the top 100 licensors in a new feature. Disney topped the list, but WWE beat out Playboy, Universal Studios and Coca-Cola, among others. Mattel Brands, which will have the rights to WWE toys beginning in January of 2010, came in at number 13.

– Dave Meltzer reports that first indications on Matt Hardy’s injury is that he will be out of action for four to six weeks. According to him, Matt was expected to be starting another program with MVP on the RAW brand soon for the WWE United States Title, or at least that was the plan as of a few weeks ago but it may have changed. Matt was scheduled to be one of the major heels for the RAW brand starting with tonight’s live show. WWE’s website notes that WWE physician Dr. Amman determined that Matt broke his second metacarpal in his right hand, requiring that he wear a cast.

– Fans at the Backlash show last night noticed WWE crew members working on the spotlight that Big Show threw John Cena into a few matches before the main event. There was a moment after the spot with Cena where WWE crew members and wrestlers came out to check on Cena. One of the wrestlers was Christian. Christian stopped on the stage as he made his way out and stared down at Edge, who was sitting on the stage with his new World Heavyweight Title in hand. To view the photo, click below to enlarge.
