Update on Cute Kip in TNA, TNA Scrapping a Gimmick and More

– TRISTAR Productions, the official trading card partner of TNA Wrestling, has plans to release an all-new TNA Knockouts trading cards series on Tuesday, April 28, featuring all of your favorite sexy TNA femme fatales such as Awesome Kong, Raisha Saeed and the ODB. Each box set contains two autograph cards, one event-used memorabilia card or “Knockouts Kiss Card,” and one parallel card numbered to 40 or less.

– As seen on last night’s edition of iMPACT, TNA has scrapped Shannon Spruill’s “The Governor” character in favor of her much more familiar Daffney persona. The change was explained in a session with Dr. Stevie as Daffney said she was sent away for five years to an insane asylum. She eventually got better and decided to go out and act again because she loves it. She talked about doing odd jobs and commercials before receiving a call from her close friends on the indy scene, Roxxi and Taylor, to prank someone. She said it was supposed to be a job, but The Beautiful People took things too far by using scissors and cutting her hair. After they cut her hair, all the old memories she was trying to suppress returned — she then broke down in tears. To conclude the session, she told Dr. Stevie that her old doctor told her that a brain sometimes has a life of its own.

– Kip James is taking bookings though his page on MySpace.com. Fans and promoters can keep in touch with Kip at myspace.com/officialkipjames. Based on online reports, it would appear that Kip James is no longer an on-air character in TNA Wrestling as company president Dixie Carter reportedly made a decision to remove him from television a few weeks ago. A fan has launched a petition to save James’ role as an on-air performer in TNA, which you can see at petitionspot.com/petitions/savekipjames. Kip himself is pushing the petition in a blog on his MySpace page. According to fans in attendance at Monday’s iMPACT taping in Orlando, there were a lot of “We Want Kip” chants during the Madison Rayne vs. Taylor Wilde match.
