New Details on Future Projects for WWE Studios

Posted by Marc Middleton in WWE News on Monday, March 23rd, 2009

- According to Variety, a number of projects are currently being done by WWE Studios. The article also noted that the film has been teasing in interviews as of late for this Summer is an action-comedy. Here are some of the projects lined up:

*A planned DVD remake of Chuck Norris’ 80s film “Missing in Action”

*A comedy titled “Suckerpunch” which would feature The as the lead character.

*A “Scorpion King” sequel that would go straight to DVD (a previous sequel featuring UFC’s Randy Couture has already been released on DVD sans any WWE connection)

*A sequel to Cena’s “12 Rounds”, which will be released on Friday.

Interesting to note there was no mention of the long discussed film “Jornada del Muerte”, designed as a modern western. That movie has been listed on IMDB for going on 2 years now but no solid word has came about it.

WWE is also developing TV scripts for their talents to star in that would take the talent outside of the “WWE” world with the idea of pitching them to potential television partners.
