News on Nunzio, The Rock, a TNA Star’s Status and More

Posted by Marc Middleton in TNA News on Sunday, March 1st, 2009

- SLAM! Wrestling has an article on former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Nunzio, who has since opened a wrestling school in New Jersey. “I always wanted to train, to give back and teach students the right way,” Nunzio said. “There are a lot of schools out there, but I have a good reputation in this business and my resume speaks for itself.”

- Today’s New York Post has a quote from Dwayne “” Johnson, saying when he was eight years old, he pretended he was a combination of Elvis, Chuck Norris and Richard Pryor.

- This past Thursday night on iMPACT, Lance Rock was pinned in Beer Monday’s latest “Off The Wagon Challenge” match (”Loser Leaves Town” match), so he’s officially gone from TNA. His profile has since been removed from the TNA website. On the other hand, tag partner Jimmy Rave was not pinned, so he is still a member of the TNA roster for the time being.

On February 10, 2009, news broke that Rock was parting ways with TNA. In actuality, his contract was set to expire and TNA decided then not to renew it.
