WWE Draft Update, Hall of Fame News, Ron Simmons, Cena, More

– There will be some sort of wrestling convention on the Friday before WrestleMania 25 in Houston, Texas. More details should be available the first of the week.

– The Honky Tonk Man told The Ottawa Sun that he will be attending WrestleMania weekend in Houston and the WWE Hall of Fame. Honky said he wouldn’t be inducted this year but will be honored when he does get the call to go into the Hall.

– The recently released WWE Superstar Ron Simmons will be returning to the ring on April 25th for the Pro Wrestling Unplugged promotion in Voorhees, New Jersey. Jim Neidhart, Gangrel and Mikey P from MTV’s G’s to Gents is also scheduled to appear on the show.

– In movie news, 12 Rounds, starring WWE Superstar John Cena, opens in Australian cinemas on Thursday, March 26, 2009. Escape to Witch Mountain, starring former WWE wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, opens in Australian cinemas on Wednesday, April 9, 2009.

– The 2009 WWE Draft will take place during a three-hour edition of WWE Monday Night RAW on April 13th. The Draft will air from 8-11pm EST.

– The USA Network will air a 1-hour version of the 2009 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, April 4th at 10PM EST, the night before WrestleMania 25. The Hall of Fame replay will air on April 5th at 1AM EST.

– As noted earlier, WWE.com posted video of the first Gail Kim vignette. Apparently, this was a mistake on the website’s part as the video has since been deleted. Speaking of Gail, she turned 32 years old yesterday.
