WWE Tightens Security, SmackDown Rating, Melina News, More

- At Friday night’s RAW/ECW house show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, security was very tight around where the wrestlers drove out, likely stemming from last weekend’s incident involving .

- In other notes from the show, it drew approximately 13,000 fans including a few Hollywood celebrities in actor Michael Clarke Duncan and Arsenio Hall. The celebrity TV host was profiled on Fox’s Los Angeles’s 11:00 p.m broadcast attending the event with his son and even offered comment. “No matter what happens in our society you can always see it mirrored in wrestling,” Hall said. “It’s interesting. I love wrestling. Wrestling is kind of a refection of who we are.”

- The 2/6 edition of Friday Night Smackdown on MyNetworkTV drew a 2.1 broadcast rating.

- Trevor sent word that WWE Women’s Champion Melina was asked what it’s like to be a Champion in a recent live chat on WWE’s website and here’s what she said:

It’s awesome, and also there’s a lot of pressure… what is the Spider Man line? “There’s great power, but there’s great responsibility.” I feel like there’s a lot of people that are backing me up and I don’t want to let them down, but at the same time I’m coming back from an injury — my ankle is still hurting — and I’m always having this fear … that I could slip up and lose the championship…
