– WWE Diva Katie Lea has posted Short and Snappy Tales of Greatness #6. She said one of her goals in 2009 is to work for John Bradshaw Layfield. Lea wrote: “Work for . Surely a blind man can see that having mouse-faced grumpy-man in JBL’s corner is eventually going do him more harm than good. I predict that the ‘Kid’ (..?) will snap one day turning things pretty ugly for everyone involved… I would think (and I’m good at thinking), that it would be a far better option for JBL to have a virile and beautiful young woman by his side, willing to do absolutely anything he asks of her… Needless to say, I have sent in my application.” Lea also wants to beat up , who she refers to as “Little Miss Saturday Night Fever,” so it looks like a feud may be developing between the two. On her recent move to ECW, Lea wrote: “How do I feel about getting involved in ECW..? Well, naturally I am EXTREMEly excited. Hahahaha, what a joke, a hilarious joke! Seriously though. I am. Ready to unleash my demon, to finally let him roam free and spread his wings causing chaos and destruction everywhere. Or should that be decadence and disorder..? Either way, this is going to be fun…”

– The AAA promotion out of Mexico fired former TNA wrestler Rellik (Jon Hugger, a.k.a. Johnny Stamboli) on New Year’s Eve. His character failed to get over with the Mexican audience. “He didn’t make the cut” was the official term given regarding his release from the company from head AAA official Dorian Roldan. Hugger’s constant demands also factored into his release from the company. Teddy Hart makes constant demands too, but they put up with him because he’s considered to be more talented whereas Rellik didn’t get that pass. Hugger had been pushing for AAA to pay for an apartment in Mexico City so he could move out of living in a hotel. AAA doesn’t book apartments for wrestlers unless they are convinced they are going to last in the promotion. Hugger also asked for a raise and told Roldan that CMLL and Marco Corleone (Mark Jindrak) are making offers for him to jump as leverage. Hugger no-showed a show in Tijuana a few days earlier, as him asking for a raise was the final straw.

– Former WWE Superstar “Dr. Death” Steve Williams, 48, recently took up a job at Southwest Airlines.

– Three former WWE stars in Jon Heidenreich, Sylvester Terkay, Matt Wiese (Luther Reigns) went to Beijing, China on 12/28 to be cast as fighters in an upcoming martial arts movie. Former UPW Heavyweight Champion Tom Howard and boxer Eric “Butterbean” Esch were also cast in the movie.
