– After spending nearly a week in Iraq visiting with U.S. soldiers and troops, WWE wrestlers and staff capped off the week taping the annual “Tribute to the Troops” show on Friday afternoon. The physical and mental toll on the wrestlers did not go unnoticed.
“The Tribute to the Troops event is over and everyone seems physically, mentally, and emotionally drained,” Joey Styles reported on his WWE Universe blog. “To me, the event felt like a combination of WrestleMania and an original ECW pay-per-view.”
Styles said the crew is now loaded back on a plane for Germany before returning to Washington, D.C. where the trip started. Most of the crew was from the RAW brand, so they’ll have a weekend off before Raw in Philadelphia on Monday.
