– The release of Elijah Burke came as a surprise to some in WWE. Burke lost his biggest supporter in former ECW writer Dave Lagana and despite being a good worker with a good look, wasn’t used in the past few months.
– Regarding Lena Yada’s release, WWE wanted her to do more work in the ring but the general feeling was that she just wasn’t that good. Dave Meltzer reports that according to one source, as soon as WWE had Gail Kim locked in a deal, Vince and Stephanie McMahon felt there was no reason to have Yada on the roster since they looked too much alike, despite reports that WWE wanted more Asian faces on TV recently, who knows.
– Linda McMahon appeared on FOX Business on yesterday to discuss WWE’s disappointing quarter numbers that came out last week. Linda talked about how the company is planning to cut around $20 million in operational costs. When she was asked what WWE was doing to make it affordable with the tough economy, she danced around the answer by saying they try to provide the most value they can for the fans.
