Ric Flair and Jim Ross Updates, Funk Pissed Off, Tazz, More

Posted by Marc Middleton in WWE News on Sunday, October 12th, 2008

- WWE ring announcer Tony Chimel turned 41 yesterday while WWE announcer also turned 41. Former WWE Superstar Rikishi turned 43 yesterday.

- Wrestling legend Terry Funk is unhappy about being advertised for the 3K Wrestling show that we posted on last week. Funk says he was never booked for that show in Robersonville, NC and never even knew about it. Funk was advertised by the promotion for a steel cage match with Steve Corino last Saturday.

- Michael sent the following: appears on this weekend’s syndicated version of TMZ Weekend(check local listings) about 10-15 minutes into the show discussing his apparent feud with former NFL standout and current Dancing with the Stars contestant Warren Sapp. Apparently Flair is mad he was not chosen and said he could beat up Sapp in a different interview and is asked about it in this one. Flair also has been working out and put on quite a bit of muscle it seems.

- Jeff sent the following: On SportsCenter Saturday morning they had in front of a WWE logo plugging the show.  He appeared on their weekend college football preview show yesterday running down the Texas vs. Oklahoma game.  He’s likely not in a good mood right now since Texas won.  He was in character on the show.  I think they wanted him to play an exaggerated version of himself getting in his government mule and slobberknocker references.
