The Latest On Ric Flair: Parts With WWE On Good Terms

— The theme for WWE 24/7 programming during the month of September will be based around the career of Ric Flair. The theme is entitled “Forever Flair.” The synopsis reads: “All September on WWE 24/7 Classics On Demand, it Forever Flair… WOOOOOO! Relive the illustrious career of the 16-time World Champion, the Nature Boy, Ric Flair. See all the championship conquests, his NWA/WCW run with the Four Horseman, the formation of Evolution in WWE and the unforgettable battles with Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race, Terry Funk, Sting, Ronnie Garvin, Ricky Steamboat, Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan and many others.” Flair will also be featured as a guest panelist on the roundtable talk show, The Legends of Wrestling. The first episode’s topic will be “The Greatest Faction in Wrestling History.” This will likely be changed now.

— I posted a report on the story as soon as one of the representatives of The Nature Boy contacted an independent promotion with the information that Flair would be available for bookings due to a departure from WWE. That independent promoter called me to inform me of the call he had received and asked if I had heard anything about it.

— Inside details on the situation are scarce, but early reports indicate that the severance is being portrayed as amicable. Flair’s WWE contract had apparently been preventing him from accepting offers of interest, so the two sides agreed to end their relationship. Over the past few months, Flair has been forced to back out of a number of previously scheduled outside bookings because WWE didn’t approve of them. I’m told the two sides are still on good terms. More details on the story are coming, so stay tuned.

— If you’re looking to book Ric, you can do so now at http://thegillespieagency.com/public/html/woo.html. Serious inquiries only please. I’m pretty sure he’ll have a no compete clause but can’t confirm that as of this writing.

— Stay tuned to the site for more details on this breaking news story.
